How to choose your perfect venue

Planning a wedding is an exciting if time-consuming task. The choice of venues available today is vast, from castles to yurts and everything in between. Here are some useful tips to guide you in the right direction:

  1. Numbers

Whether you’re planning on an intimate gathering or a banquet of epic proportions, this will have a big impact on your choice of venue. Not every venue will be able to accommodate large groups, and some will have a minimum guest number so, do your research and you’ll be able to rule out some venues altogether. Some good advice is to aim low in your numbers because it’s always easier to add in than deduct. You also don’t want to pay for plates that aren’t used.

  1. Budget

You and your fiancé will need to do some seriously financial calculations in order to establish a workable budget. Working out, in advance, what you can afford will help prevent you from falling in love with a venue that’s way over your price range. A good rule of thumb is not to spend more than half of your wedding budget on your venue choice. Rushing into a contract with a venue before researching all the options could leave you out of pocket, with unexpected expenses and having to make cuts in other areas.

  1. Think Differently

For complete control and flexibility, why not think outside the box and choose a venue with a difference? A marquee is a portable option which you can set up wherever you want. You can choose your size depending on the number of guests, decorate in any theme you desire and choose any catering options without the limitations of an indoor venue. 1. Social Media

Have a look at all the venues on your shortlist on social media and see what people are saying about it and any photographs people have taken. You should be able to find information on wedding planner blogs which will give you a very good indication of what venues look like when they are not staged.

  1. The date

If you have a specific date in mind, then you might have to go with whatever venue is free on that date. If you can be flexible over the date and season, you’ll get a much better deal with ‘off-season’ wedding packages. This way you can often get the venue of your dreams for a fraction of the normal peak cost. You’ll pay less for a Friday wedding in January for example than you will for a Saturday in June. If you can be flexible, you’ll have much more leverage with wedding vendors.

The 20 best decoration tips to renovate your home on a budget

Do not always decorate mean having a big budget but knowing certain bases to exploit your environments to the fullest. Add ideas!

Here we give you some maxims when decorating so that your house is a unique place:

1) In small spaces, use light colors and pastels on the walls; place mirrors to multiple natural lights and low-rise furniture.

2) Add a focal point to your decorations. This is, an element that contrasts with the rest and that forces your guests to look at it.

 3) If you add pictures to your decorations, do not put them too high. The correct height must respect the range of vision of the people: between 1.50m and 1.72m.

4) It is said that a good combination does not exceed 3 colors.

5) Identify the color of an element that you want to highlight and duplicate it in the environment. Make that color occupy maximum 20% of the environment to create a harmonic contrast.

6) Put a picture in the living room or in the dining room. It will give prominence and a different style to that space. Use colors that make contrasts.

7) Organize your books with style: combine coatings and accessories that match the furniture around the library.

8) Use furniture that makes a contrast in your spaces, that way it will not look monotonous.

9) In modern bathrooms the medicine cabinet is stored in other parts, leaving the mirror a decorative accessory. Try different shapes and sizes: round, oval, square; with a wooden frame, metal or without a frame.

10) Use boxes inside your furniture, that way you can store more objects and your space will be clean.

11) The trick to decorating a corridor is not to hinder the transit of people. You can use thin and tall furniture.

12) If you decorate a bathroom, consider that the furniture not only have to look good, but they have to be practical. In this space, the beautiful is the user.

13) A floor in a clear tone will help you dramatically improve the lighting of a space with little light.

14) Create contrasts between your furniture and floors.

15) Add plants to your spaces.

16) The wicker baskets are excellent for decorating and at the same time organizing the spaces. Use them!

17) Use flowers in your bathroom, they will look amazing.

18) When you design the kitchen, the color you select for the walls will play an important role since it will impose the tone of the rest of the space.

19) Use small furniture and different color to your walls, that way they will stand out more.

20) If your dining room is small I recommend a roundtable with thin chairs, thin lines, and no arms.

Headphones Bose Sleepbuds:

By looking at them we can come to think that these are simple headphones to listen to our favorite music. They look very modern, and we would even think that they are wireless headphones that connect to some device via Wifi or Bluetooth.

However, they were not created to listen to Arjona, Luis Miguel, much less to Justin Biever, but they will make you sleep in a way you never did before.

The BOSE Sleepbuds are headphones created to cancel external noises, yes, as you read it. That is to say, when you put them on, they will cancel any type of noise around you, including that of the annoying snore (or even gas) of your partner that wakes you up night after night.

Bose promises us that with these headphones you can block any noise around you, whether they are snoring, barking dogs, cat fights, even if you live near a busy avenue or in a central area, you can cancel the annoying traffic noise.

Surely you will be thinking … how can I hear the alarm clock if I use them? Well, everything is designed by BOSE, because these headphones also include an alarm clock that will act as an alarm according to your schedule.

Being a revolutionary project and where it is not known if it will succeed, BOSE has launched a crowdfunding campaign, and so far they have already raised close to 500 thousand dollars, something that will undoubtedly allow them to start the first set of headphones for sleeping

Protect Your Eyes In Fashion When Gaming

Technology is not only limited to computer components or smart gadgets that make life easier through computer controlled systems. As the human race develops, learns and grows we constantly find new and improved ways to keep our bodies protected from the elements.

Gaming can last for hours on end; it’s always good to give your eyes the protection they deserve. Staring into any screen for extended periods of time can harm your eyes. The flickering blue light emits rays into your pupils that can cause dryness, eye fatigue and in some cases, insomnia.

There is some scepticism about gaming glasses and their role in the gamer’s life. Whilst glasses are traditionally viewed as an accessory for people with poor sight, gaming glasses take a different angle and instead of enhancing your vision, gaming glasses keep your eyes performing at optimum levels for the ultimate gaming experience. This means you’ll protect your eyes when playing everything from pokies New Zealand to MMO’s, and you can play for longer too.

The following gaming glasses have been hand picked as the best gaming glasses 2017 has to offer. They allow for considerably less stress on your eyes, resulting in superior game play and enhanced protection for your pupils.

Protection From Cyxus

With blue light filter technology, Cyxus gaming glasses protect your eyes from UV light and electromagnetic radiation that is constantly emitted from devices like tablets, mobile phones and computer screens.

Cyxus Blue Light Filter Eyewear use advanced coating technology that allows for clear lenses. This means that the lenses in Cyxus gaming glasses do not make use of amber tinted lenses, so you can wear them comfortably without drawing attention to yourself.

Intercept Any Play

The Gunnar Optiks INT-00101 Intercept break gaming ground in new found ways. Blocking out 65 percent of blue light and all UV radiation the Intercept from Gunnar really do keep your eyes focused on the game at hand.

Featuring multi-barrel hinges and a lightweight frame weighing in at just 35 grams, the Gunnar Intercept are perfectly optimized to sit comfortably around your ears without you even noticing them.

Glare Free Quality

One of the biggest drawbacks for PS4 players making use of gaming glasses is the potential glare that could result from processing the screen through newfound lenses that ultimately add glare to any gaming situation.

Trust Optics FeatherView UV400 gaming glasses double up and function dually as glare reduction glasses as well as blue light blockers. With tr90 frame material the FeatherView is comfortable, lightweight and non-straining on the bridge of your nose, allowing for more aggressive gaming sessions.

Gaming Glasses For The Fashion Conscious

The GameKing S22134 Retro Vintage pair of gaming glasses really does walk the walk. If you’re used to more minimalist lens coverage then these gaming glasses have been designed just for you.

Not only do they boast oil and fog resistance, they are also superiorly stylish with hipster like square-rounded lenses that can be strutted anywhere, at any gaming destination.

Gaming glasses can be flash and trendy, but most of all glasses protect your eyes from harmful light like UV light and blue light. Use gaming glasses if you’re serious about staring into the screen, but always remember these glasses are just precautionary and it’s always good to give your eyes a rest. Focus on something different or get up and go for a walk every so often.

best tips for a happy and lasting marriage

Every marriage has its problems, which can arise at any time. The important thing is to learn to deal with it gently and before they destroy the relationship. Here are the best tips and advice for a happy and lasting marriage.

How to have a happy marriage: the best tips and advice

Whether you are an old couple or newly married, there are some basic rules to follow. It’s not always easy to put them into practice, but it’s important to do it. If you respect them, your marriage will be even stronger and you will enjoy even more the good sides of life together – pleasure, sex, trust, affection.

1. Look for love balance.

The boredom, the frustration, and the daily irritations can extinguish the flame between you and it is not by multiplying them that you will revive it. But you will do it if you focus on the good side of your relationship. Here’s how to do it:

It takes on average twenty positive remarks to compensate for the harm resulting from a single negative comment, a hard look or an impatient “hum”. Therefore, reinforce the positive and moderate the negative. Compliment your wife for her new shoes, your husband for his new blue shirt. Thank him for his involvement in housework. Call her at her office to tell her that you are thinking about her (especially, avoid discussing household chores or bad grades of children).

Make sure your compliments and thanks are sincere and specific: “I know I can always count on you to make my car safe and in perfect working order.” “This tablecloth is very pretty. You always find ways to make our house a pleasant place. “Look at your partner in the eye when you smile or compliment him. Accompany a tender gesture of a happy little sigh.

When we adopt this attitude, we realize that, in addition to knowing how to irritate his partner, we know how to make him happy. After all, that’s how the relationship started. We also discover that it is still time to express his affection. When you come home in the evening, hug him and kiss him so he knows you’re happy to see him. On a rainy Sunday morning, surprise her by bringing her a coffee in bed (and stay to chat with her). Know how to appreciate his qualities and ignore his faults. To let her know how happy you are to be with her, give her your best smile when you carry the recycling bin on the sidewalk. Make the resolution to kiss each night for a long time before going to bed. You do lots of little things for your kids;

2. Get in touch

The touch helps to release the endorphins “pure happiness” in the one who gives as in the one who receives. Walk arm in arm on the way to the grocery store. When you kiss her in the morning, caress her cheek with her fingertips. Revive these small gestures of your first moments together: little kiss behind the ear, hand passed in the hair, etc. Touch is a complex language and you would enrich your vocabulary.

In the long run, these small physical gestures will cement your love. However, a united couple can wipe out all the storms (and more easily avoid infidelities). To reinforce this bond, do not start supporting your soul mate. When external conflicts arise, keep secrets for yourself even if your co-workers are confiding. Except urgency, do not let anyone interrupt the moments you spend together. That’s what voicemail and the bedroom latch are all about.

Also, resolve to spend 30 minutes a day together to talk about everyday things, your goals, and your dreams; avoid discussing household chores or asking yourself about the meaning of your relationship. See this half-hour as a moment destined to consolidate your friendship. The results of studies indicate that the friendly bonds reinforce the love and sexual union. Save time for intimate relationships, even if you want to put them in your diary. What? Planning sex?  Spontaneity is good, but if you need affection or physical love, do not wait until the ideal moment comes.

Do not wait until the opportunity lends itself to celebrating your successes. Winners of the Super Bowl, champions of the World Series, gold medalists all have one thing in common: when they win, they party. Even small victories deserve to be highlighted. If your marriage is going well, that’s a reason to celebrate. Go have dinner at the restaurant where you made your marriage proposal or plan an off-season trip to Paris. You deserved it.

3. Keep in mind that no one is perfect.

It is sometimes tempting to blame one’s spouse for the feelings of anger, disappointment, boredom or stress one has towards one’s marriage. From there to think that to improve your relationship, it is he who must change, there is only one step.

It is a mistake. When we try to change his spouse, we put him on the defensive and we find ourselves in the role of the hateful character. Race Result: Neither of them changes or takes responsibility for their actions, and both are unhappy. Not to mention that, by transforming your spouse into a villain, you ignore all that is good in him and that is the essence of his person.

The solution is to change oneself. When one recognizes one’s own faults and pays attention to the qualities of the other, the magic appears. Optimism comes back. The partner feels better because he knows he is more appreciated and less criticized. And both members of the couple find the motivation to change in order to create even more joy.
Something that could help you think like this: adopt the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, that is to say, the acceptance of imperfection. The next time your spouse does something you do not like, take a deep breath and whisper wabi-sabi, telling yourself that his intentions are good even if he does it wrong. Know also its qualities and name them, for example: “My wife is caring” or “my husband has humor”. Then associate with this statement a specific example: “She removed the snow on my windshield last week” or “when I’m sad, he knows how to make me laugh”.

Finally, make peace with your imperfections. Sometimes we endorse all the responsibility for what is wrong with the couple. In high doses, guilt paralyzes. Know your qualities, name them and illustrate them with examples: “I am affectionate and kind; yesterday I gave up the last cookie to leave it to my wife. “I am honest; I tell him what I really think. “

4. Put some energy into it.

Here is the classic advice that experts give to singles that are looking for the ideal partner: be yourself the ideal partner and the one you are looking for will come to you. The same goes for marriage. The happier you are, the better your marriage will be, and the better you’ll be able to deal with conflict. If 15 minutes of morning yoga, decaf or a new hobby is good for you, it will be reflected in your relationship, which will only be richer and happier.

In the meantime, recognize it: you used to take great care of your hair and always search for the sexiest lingerie item in town, but today you’re just wearing a stained sweat suit and an old, distorted t-shirt. It’s time to revamp your appearance a bit. Paint your mane, brush your teeth and put on a new dress. You will like what you see in the mirror, your eyes will shine more and your eyes will ignite your spouse. You know what you have to do next!

5. Be loyal in your arguments.

In a marriage, conflicts are normal, even healthy. It’s the way you manage them that counts. In a Florida study, 70% of long-term couples who said they were satisfied with their relationship felt that joint problem solving was a key factor; only 33% of unsatisfied couples were in control of this approach. With a good attitude and the right tools, the conflicts prepare the way for a greater intimacy: the possibility to be seen and loved for what we are, to accept, in all its beauty, the vulnerability of its spouse and strengthen the bonds of marriage, free from resentment and despair.

Above all, avoid criticism, confrontation, and animosity, which act like gas on the fire. After following 79 couples for more than 10 years, researchers at the University of California found that early divorcers argued for a long time and in a loud voice, and were always ready to attack or defend. In contrast, happy couples avoided criticism, escalation, and words such as “never” and “always”.

If a fight arises, try to change the subject, inject a dose of humor, show sympathy, or show your spouse that you appreciate it. If it’s lost, take a moment to calm yourself down.

6. Choose the right time and the right place.

Avoid difficult topics when you are tired or hungry, situations that can lead to uncomfortable remarks or black thoughts. For the same reason, do not drink alcohol during an argument. Book it instead to celebrate the return of peace.

Never discuss your marital problems if you are busy with something else. Turn off the TV or computer, hang up the phone and close your magazine. If you are distracted or have to go out, choose another time to chat. You cannot solve a conflict while doing something else.

Also, keep in mind that the way you handle these situations does not affect you. If the discussion is going to go wrong, stop it and pick it up when the kids are not around. When they are, stay respectful and effective. Studies have shown that children thrive and develop good interpersonal skills when parents solve problems constructively. Conversely, loud voices and cries of helplessness lead to insecurity and behavioral problems.

7. Open your ears.

The best thing you can do to strengthen your relationship is to talk less and listen more. Reproaches, insults, criticism, and intimidation can only lead to rupture or, at least, an internal life. When conservation becomes a battle, let your partner express their feelings. It will always be time to propose a solution or to defend you. Give your head ahead, rephrase one of his sentences, or simply signal him with a delicate “yes-yes” that you recognize the emotions behind his words. Sometimes all we need to get closer to each other is to pay attention to what he really has to say.

The new HDMI 2.1 came: support for 10K resolutions and Dynamic HDR

In the past CES technology event, held in January this year 2017 saw what would be the new HDMI 2.1, which promises to take our multimedia experience to a new level like never before.

The new HDMI 2.1 standard left everyone open-mouthed because of the great possibilities it brings to interact with audiovisual content. And the moment arrived, after several months of twists and turns, the availability of HDMI 2.1 was announced a few hours ago.

So soon we will see it integrated into the most modern TVs, Laptops, PCs and video game consoles on the market. In fact, it was saying in many technology agencies and magazines that one of those who would take the honor of being the first to incorporate it would be the Xbox One X, something that did not happen at the end.

So in the next CES of 2018 if we can marvel at this breakthrough HDMI 2.1 on almost all the most modern devices.

HDMI 2.1 will run at a bandwidth of 48 GB per second

Yes, as you’ve read it, it’s no joke. HDMI 2.1 breaks all the multimedia transmission speed records you’ve ever dreamed of.

Unlike its HDMI 2.0 predecessor, HDMI 2.1 offers bandwidth speeds of up to 48 Gbps, which will allow it to transmit video at a 10k quality, more than twice the current 4k.

So you know, if you want to watch TV at 10k you need one that supports it first, and second, you’ll need an HDMI 48G cable. The good thing about this cable is that it will also be compatible with other previous versions of HDMI, such as 2.0.

But as the multimedia man of the XXI century lives not only in speed, we also find that he has improved a lot in terms of 60Hz rates that will be used for 8k resolutions, and 120H for 4k resolutions.

It also incorporates the Dynamic HD in all resolutions supported by the device, in addition to Variable Refresh Rate (in English VVR) compatibility so that the refresh in our device is automatic.

These improvements will almost completely reduce any delay you see on your device when using HDMI, which added to the crazy speed of 48Gb / s, will make you run to buy the first TV you see with this brand new technology

1. Plan when to go

Traveling to Japan is a joy at any time of the year. We’ve already told you how much of the summer,  the autumn, the winter, and spring are great times to do so. And in each season of the year, Japan surprises us with something unique. So in this case, be calm.

But it is important to know the average temperature that you will have, which we have compiled on the weather page. It is also important to know the main events of each season so that you decide according to your tastes which is the best time. Cherry trees in spring, heat, and humidity but with wonderful matsuris in summer, red leaves in autumn, snow and Christmas decorations in winter … In Japan there is something special at each time of year and, as you can see, we have everything covered.

2. Stay tuned for the prices of airline tickets

If you travel to Japan from Europe, we have an entry with all the airlines that fly to Japan from Europe.

Of course, do not buy the first flight that you put in front, and use a search engine even if it is to compare prices, because of more and more, airlines publish timely offers. And we can get to fly at very affordable prices, even in summer. And we tell you from experience.

3. Decide whether to buy the JR Pass and get your exchange order

Although it is true that a JR Pass does not always come to mind (for this we must take some calculat ion, as we already tell you), it is likely that having this train pass is your best ally in a trip to Japan . Especially if it is your first time and you are going to visit at least Tokyo and the area of Osaka and Kyoto.

But be careful, the JR Pass cannot be bought when you arrive in Japan, as some of you have asked us by mail. You have to buy before you leave for Japan an exchange order that, once there, you will exchange for the pass itself. This can be done at the train stations of the airports or at some of the main JR stations.

Remember that you can buy the JR Pass comfortably from this website of our total confidence (and in doing so, you help us a little bit to keep Japonismo alive).

4. Investigate events and parties in advance

Once you have decided which station to go to, once you have the plane tickets and even the exchange order to get the JR Pass, take a look at the special events in the city that will serve you. Headquarters. It will help you to plan the itinerary not only in terms of temples, buildings, parks or other “permanent” attractions, but also those activities that only occur a few days a year. And that without a doubt they are worth it and contribute to your trip a personal charm and make it unique.

As we know that this is important, we have written very extensive entries for each of the months, with all the Japanese festivals and festivities distributed by region and city. And although conventional guides usually include information of this type, they tend to focus on the most well-known events, but many are left out, so beware.

5. Plan the train schedules with Hyperdia

Although Japan is a railway country par excellence, not all destinations have a fast or easy connection by train. Also keep in mind that dawns soon and, likewise, the sun sets soon. It is important, therefore, make the most of the days and for this, it is best to plan in advance the schedules of the trains that we are going to use.

In this way we can know exactly what time we will arrive at the destination and make the most of the daylight hours, to return later when the sun begins to fall. Also, if it is high season, we can book in advance (as long as we go with JR Pass on trains with reservation) and have no problems with the trip. If the whole railway issue is complex, we have an extensive and very visual guide explaining how to use trains in Japan.

6. Hire the Internet for your trip

In these times, being able to count your trip live through social networks and being in contact with family and friends has ceased to be an option to be almost something sought after by all. In Japan, there are not many Wifi networks open, except for the case of Starbucks (which requires previous registration, as we have) or the network in the northeast of Japan for tourists. And although it is possible to find networks in metro and train stations, they usually require that we are still or that at least we do not move too much, since as soon as we leave the station, goodbye connection!

Right now, the two best options to have Internet when traveling in Japan is either buy a SIM card with data connection or rent a Mifi or Pocket Wifi system, which will give us all the connectivity we want while we are visiting the Japanese country. In this post, you have more information about it although as you know, we have always trusted Japan Wireless, which has Pocket Wifi with unlimited data and a very high download speed.

7. Carry enough money in cash

Whether you change it before you travel or if you do it once, do not rely too much on credit cards in Japan. In hotels, it is normal for you to have no problem paying by credit card, at least in business hotels and large chains. But many Japanese restaurants and shops will not accept them, and if you do not have enough money changed, you may find yourself with a problem.

In addition, there is a problem that not all ATMs allow you to withdraw money with foreign cards. Those of Citibank, those of 7 Eleven and those of Japan Post, as a general rule, yes they will allow you to withdraw money with your credit card, but better to be cautious. Especially with how safe the country is since we should not be afraid of being robbed.

Remember that if you do not like to get to Japan without any money in your pocket, we have the perfect solution and it is to change online before traveling. For this, we recommend  Exact Change a company of our confidence that allows us to request yen conveniently by Internet or by telephone at very good prices (better than at the airport). And we can select whether to pick them up or receive them comfortably at home, without having to move. At the moment it is only available in Spain, so we are looking at options for those who live in other parts of the world. But while, if you want to look at their prices click here  or call free at  900.103.740and use the Japonisme code (JAP0533V) to treat you better if possible. It does not cost you more, but it helps us keep the web alive.

8. Carry an extension cord with plug adapter

I do not believe that we are the only ones who travel with countless electronic devices. Between mobile phones, tablets, cameras, battery chargers for the camera flash, etc., ends up being crazy.

And carrying an adapter for each of the chargers that we carry can be complicated because we probably do not have as many as there are so many plugs in the room. Staying in a hotel with plugs adapted for European plugs is not frequent, besides. What is the best solution then? Well, take a single adapter flat pegs (such as we use for the United States) and an extension that allows us to connect all our chargers.

9Learn some typical phrases

In a different country, where everything surprises you, it is quite possible that you go clueless on more than one occasion. And surely you’ll stumble on someone, or put yourself on the escalators where you should not, or anything else.

Being able to say “thank you”, “I’m sorry” or “sorry” is something basic, and like in any other country, being able to say it in the local language is always very well received, it gives a good image and says a lot about you as a tourist.

10. Learn the basic Japanese etiquette

When we travel to another country, we will always find different customs, different ways of doing things. And although on many occasions people usually look at the tourist with benevolence, because the locals know that we do not know all their customs, it is worthwhile to learn some basic rules of coexistence and etiquette.

And there is nothing uglier than eating in Japan and using chopsticks as in a funeral. Or get to a place with tatamiand not take off our shoes and leave it dirty and spoil it. Or get to a sanctuary and want to drink water from the pile at the entrance without knowing the ritual of the temizu . Knowing these basic details a little will make our experience more pleasant and much more Japanese.

Finally, we also recommend you to take out travel insurance  (you can do it from here with our trusted provider and get a 5% discount for being Japonismo readers) and check our store in search of the best excursions, experiences, and tickets to shows of all type … there are many interesting things!

Enjoy your trip to Japan!
