The study could be the basis for further study the effect of ecstasy on brain function
People taking ecstasy in the brain disrupt the transport of specific substances – serotonin. It is involved in the regulation of some processes in the brain related to mood, emotions, aggression, memory and perception.
This was stated by scientists from Liverpool, which compared the results of seven independent studies on the effect of Ecstasy on people taking the drug regularly.
According to them, the difficulty in the movement of serotonin can affect the adequacy of the human emotional reactions.
“In 11 out of 14 brain regions included in the study, revealed violations of the transportation of serotonin in Ecstasy host compared to use other drugs,” – said Dr. Charles Roberts of the Institute of Psychology, Health and Society, University of Liverpool.
He considers that this study could be the basis for further study the effect of ecstasy on brain function
