How to get higher in clash royale arenas

clash royale arenas

You have just started playing Clash Royale, Supercell’s famous strategy title for smartphones and tablets, and you are really enjoying it. Despite all the time spent in clashes with other opponents of your level, you have realized that the speed with which you pass from one arena to another is not what you want and that as you go along the path, achieving the next arena becomes increasingly difficult.

That’s the way it is, right? Then I am happy to inform you that you have come across the right tutorial at the right time! In the course of the next few lines, in fact, I will show you how to climb the arena on Clash Royale using some functional strategy for the purpose. Nothing too complex, of course, these are just tips to climb faster until you reach the leagues and the final classification of Ultimate Champion in League 10, but I hope it will be useful for you.

How to get to higher in clash royale arenas

Do you want to know how to climb the arena on Clash Royale? Then read the following. As already mentioned above, the game is made up of a total of 15 arenas, followed by 10 leagues, at the end of which the level of Definitive Champion is reached: the maximum peak (at least at the time of writing).

As you go up in the different game arenas by winning the necessary battles, new cards are unlocked until you reach the 106 totals that make up the complete deck. Below you will find, therefore, the main methods to climb the arenas quickly and reach the last league.

Create a balanced deck

The first method to quickly scale arenas is to create and use decks that are balanced and suitable for the arena in which you are fighting. Not all decks, in fact, are suitable for all phases of the game and, as you go upwards, you need to modify the deck to make it more functional.

An essential aspect, in my opinion, is to balance the deck from a defensive and attacking point of view, trying not to create imbalances between these two essential aspects of the game. In fact, there is a tendency to discredit the defense without considering that many defensive cards are also useful in attack after they have defeated the enemies present.

Another thing I advise you to be careful about when creating the deck is the risk of generating a powerful deck that runs badly, too slow and with little synergy (therefore with an excessive expenditure of elixir that is reformed in just under 3 seconds, which in the game may seem like an eternity and little “compatibility” between cards).

One of the most balanced decks among those suggested by expert players, useful for the first stages of the game, is called the Lava Loon deck and consists of: Arrows (Common, Arena 0), Balloon (Epic, Arena 6), Guards (Epic, Arena 7), Lava Hound (Legendary, Arena 4), Lightning Bolt (Epic, Arena 4), Mega Minion (Rare, Arena 3), Minions (Common, Arena 0) and Tombstone (Rare, Arena 2). It is a functional and balanced deck, rather simple to create even for not particularly experienced players.

A good intermediate deck, on the other hand, is the Giant Firecracker Graveyard which contains: Arrows (Comune, Arena 0), Pipistelli (Comune, Arena 5), Pyrotechnic Archer (Comune, Arena 14), Gigante (Rara, Arena 0), Mini PEKKA (Rare, Arena 0), Skeleton Horde (Epic, Arena 2), Giant Snowball (Common, Arena 8) and Graveyard (Legendary, Arena 12).

For the very advanced stages of the game, when climbing begins to become really a difficult task, the Skeleton King Gob Giant Sparkly Rage deck is definitely worth a mention, consisting of Gigante Goblin (Epic, Arena 9), Megasgherro (Rara, Arena 3), Mini PEKKA (Rare, Arena 0), Witch Mother (Legendary, Arena 15), Fury (Epic, Arena 14), Skeleton King (Champion, Level 14), Spark (Legendary, Arena 11), Download(Municipality, Arena 5). In this case, it is a particularly powerful deck, not very easy to create given the presence of the Skeleton King, but it is definitely worth trying to achieve.

To avoid the problems listed above and to get ideas for the creation of your decks, I suggest you take a look at my guides on how to create a deck on Clash Royale, on the best decks of Clash Royale (where you can find them divided by categories, from the simplest to make up to the most complex for the different phases of the game) and on how to find legendaries on Clash Royale, which can be extremely useful for you to create functional decks at the most advanced stages.

Learn the main data of all cards

It sounds boring, but knowing all the cards well offers numerous benefits. First of all: you know what to expect from your opponent, what his most dangerous moves are and how he can defend himself. Secondly, a little less obvious but extremely useful, you know how much precious elixir he spends in making his moves and, based on this, you can create an action strategy to beat him quickly and ensure the victory of the cups and consequently the summit climb.

Good knowledge in general of the rules of the game, the powers of the cards and their costs certainly allow you to have an extra advantage over an inexperienced player who gropes. Even if there are cards that you use less, therefore, study them carefully. To do this, you can consult the Clash Royale Wiki, where there are numerous articles on cards, arenas, chests, etc.

For each card, you will find useful tips and tricks for combining it with other cards, as well as its strengths and weaknesses and strategies for using it to the fullest. Among other things, there are also many interesting curiosities: have you ever noticed, for example, that the Mini PEKKA (Rara, Arena 0) says “Pancakes” when it is deployed on the pitch?

Create your own strategy

A balanced deck and a good knowledge of cards allow you to create your own game strategy to be used as a workhorse during clashes. The essential point of the whole game is the elixir: having an advantage in these terms can affect the outcome of the battle.

So, as strategic advice, always try to spend less elixir on defense than your opponent and try to leave some spare elixir. If your opponent, therefore, decides to attack you and spends all his elixir on this attempt, being able to defend himself by spending less is a huge advantage.

To save elixir, you can also place your first troops behind the Crown Towers or behind the King’s Tower at the start of the game. This way, as they approach the opponent’s bridge and field, you have time for your elixir to reform.

Another useful strategy is to make your opponent waste resources with tactical moves. This strategy, in jargon, is called bait (i.e., bait). To give a practical example: release of skeletons Horde (Rare, Arena 2), the opponent uses a damage spell arena as paper Download (City, Arena 5), after which you play a card which would create problems as Download the Prince (Epic, Arena 7). This way, the Skeleton Horde will have played its decoy role, allowing you to play the Prince who can charge undisturbed.

Another good game strategy consists in deceiving the opponent by attacking one of his towers until they reach a level of points that can be easily knocked down with a direct attack card (such as the Mini PEKKA), then shifting attention. On another tower, a building or in any case from another part of the game arena, to ensure that the opponent’s defenses are concentrated in that new point. Then, while your opponent is completely defending in the wrong place, just play the attack card that will quickly destroy the tower.

In short, with a little inventiveness and various attempts, you can find many useful strategies to win the battle by frightening the opponent and making moves that he does not expect. Do you want another example? Using the Golem cards (Epic, Arena 10) and Prince together, calculating the times well, you can make the Prince during his ride push the Golem towards the tower, increasing his slow speed. This is a great move to make if the opponent doesn’t have air troops (the most dangerous for both cards) to quickly inflict very great damage to the towers.

Attack for seconds

If you’ve ever watched any replay videos on TV Royale, you will realize that the best players wait for the opponent to make the first move because, as they say, the best offense is defense.

Attacking second allows you to take advantage of numerous advantages such as knowing how much elixir the enemy has spent and using less to defend yourself, using targeted defensive troops that then transform into attack troops and placing defensive structures in a strategic way.

In short, by waiting for the opponent to make the first move, you have the possibility to structure the game entirely to your advantage, piloting the game and increasing your chances of winning and, consequently, climbing the arenas.

Use the buildings

Some players use a well-defined strategy based on exhausting the opponent thanks to the troops generated by the buildings, often also using the increase in attack speed produced by the Fury card (Epic, Arena 3).

It is a good tactic that can be used (even if it is not within everyone’s reach) or, if you don’t particularly like these types of cards, you can still take the coupon by deciding to add a building card such as Goblin Hut to the deck. (Rara, Arena 1) or Barbarians’ Hut (Rara, Arena 3), to name a few.

Owning at least one building, in fact, is particularly recommended both for balancing the deck and because it can be extremely useful in case of need. The buildings, in fact, attract the attention of the troop cards that are directed towards them, preventing the much more dangerous attacks on the towers.

It is also a good idea to place a building in front of the King’s Tower. In this way, it is highly probable that the opponent decides to throw a fireball (Rare, Arena 0) or a giant Snowball (Common, Arena 8) at it, risking to miss aim and hitting the tower, thus activating it inadvertently. In this way the defense will increase since the King’s Tower, if not hit, remains inactive.

Using an Ace Card

In jargon, an Ace Card is nothing more than a particular card that is played with a surprise effect towards the end of the game, a sort of ace in the hole that can quickly reverse the situation (hence the name). At the end of the match, especially at the last minute of the three-game, the elixir doubles and it is possible to play this card in a functional way.

It can be a card with a fairly high cost (which is halved due to the doubling of the speed of the elixir) capable of destabilizing the opponent. For this specific purpose, the Golem (Epica, Arena 10), even if it is rather slow, the Balloon (Epica, Arena 6) and the Tamer of wild boars (Rara, Arena 5) are excellent cards. Not knowing how to behave, probably, the opponent will begin to drop troops in a random way without following any kind of strategy, a factor that increases your chances of victory.

Maximize chest opening and resources

Each time you win a battle, you get a new chest that contains cards, gold coins (the game’s currency) and other game elements. Furthermore, the chests are classified according to their rarity: the rarer a trunk, the more it contains elements that are difficult to find.

To open a chest, you have to wait for a certain amount of time, calculated in real hours. Creating a strategy for unlocking the chests, therefore, is essential to upgrade your cards and can be a contribution to your climb of the arenas.

Better, then, open during daylight hours the silver trunks that provide for a time of 3 hours for unlocking and leaving the trunks which require more time for the nighttime hours (such as gold Trunks from 8 hours and all subsequent that require more and more time). It is also not advisable to play games with the chest slot full, as you will not get this reward in that case.

Another thing to avoid is the speco of resources such as gems (which make up the Premium currency) to unlock the chests ahead of time, avoiding waiting the necessary hours. Creating a good plan, in fact, will avoid this waste and direct resources towards smarter purchases, such as tickets for challenges that present a far greater cost-benefit ratio.

Even the purchase of cards from the shop is not recommended: it is better to join a Clan and ask the members for the cards you want, donating, in turn, those requested by them (this will also ensure that you receive gold coins ).

Furthermore, to further maximize resources, it is useful to check the Daily Offers on a daily basis, which includes the purchase of discounted cards in coins and one free item per day (which can be a card, a chest, a certain amount of gems, etc.).

In short, this is a good way to get new resources and maximize the opening of the chests. For more information about Pass Royale, you can consult the official Supercell page dedicated to the topic. If you want to know, however, how to increase your number of gems, I leave you to my tutorial on how to get gems on Clash Royale.

How to climb the arena on Clash Royale: bug
